Nixing pottery, known as Yue pottery in ancient times and scientifically called purple clay pottery, is produced in Qinzhou, Guangxi. Nixing pottery is a traditional folk craft with more than 1,300 years of history.
Qinzhou Nixing pottery, together with Jiangsu Yixing purple sand pottery, Yunnan Jianshui pottery, and Sichuan Rongchang pottery, are known as the "four famous pottery in China" and are well-known at home and abroad. In June 2008, Qinzhou Nixing pottery firing technology was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage.

Qinzhou's unique clay does not require the addition of any ceramic pigments. The "fambe" produced during the firing process is a major artistic feature of unglazed Nixing pottery. When the furnace plate rises to the critical point of 1200 degrees, it is occasionally found that a tiny part of the carcass changes, and Various gorgeous colors and textures are naturally formed, and the surface oxide must be polished to reveal its true appearance, such as sky blue, bronze, tiger stripes, large spots, dark green and many other unexpected colors. It can be said to be a treasure in the fire. It’s rare to find one, and if you have one in hand, there is no similarity.”
