We have to present here the incense holder is made of Chinese traditional colored glaze called Liuli (琉璃), also known as "Ruili", is made of artificial crystals (containing 24% lead dioxide) of various colors (the colors are produced by various metal elements) as raw materials and fired at a high temperature of more than 1,000 degrees.
The original materials for making glaze in ancient China were obtained from the by-products of bronze ware casting, and then refined and processed into glaze. The colors of colored glaze are various, and the ancients also called it "five-color stone". In ancient times, it was difficult to obtain among the people, so people at that time regarded colored glaze as even more precious than jade. In June 2008, the glaze firing technique was selected into the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list approved by the Ministry of Culture of the State Council.
