 What is Yunnan White Tea?

Yunnan White Tea uses fresh leaves from Yunnan's ancient tree large-leaf species as raw materials and adopts the traditional white tea half-shade and half-sun process. It does not roll or fry, retaining the natural aroma of fresh leaves. Due to the different origins and tea tree varieties, Yunnan White Tea and Fuding White Tea will also have some differences in aroma and taste.

Yunnan White Tea presents a unique sweetness, a floral fragrance, and a mellow, fresh character. The tea leaves are highly resistant to brew and contain rich substances. It is very suitable for aging, which is also called a large space for later transformation.

Where is this tea from?

This white tea comes from Yiwu, Yunnan. It is made from tea leaves from old tea trees that are 70-80 years old, at an altitude of 1400-1600 meters. The leaves are withered, sun-dried, and carefully processed.

Yiwu, located in Mengla County, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, boasts abundant ancient tea tree resources, with lush and verdant trees. It enjoys ample sunshine, abundant heat, plentiful rainfall, and soil rich in various trace elements. Enveloped in high-altitude clouds and mist year-round, it possesses exceptionally favorable natural conditions.

Nestled high in the mountains of Yiwu, where the mountain breezes blow and the sun shines, Yiwu white tea possesses an innate charm. The rich internal qualities of the Yunnan large-leaf variety give the old-tree tea of Yiwu an even more mellow and profound character. This results in the sweet, full-bodied flavor and a rich floral and honey aroma, making Yiwu white tea superior in quality. It also has advantages in later aging, further enhancing its medicinal and sweet fragrance characteristic of white tea, thus increasing its collectible value.

Taste feature: After brewing, this tea features a sfull-bodied flavor and distinctive forest woody aroma. The fragrance is reminiscent of tropical and primeval forest. It’s also accompanied with a pronounced Chinese herbal medicine called Jinyinhua 金银花 scent. When the tea gets cold, the wild flowery aroma is subtle. The tea soup is mellow, smooth, sweet and satisfying, with a long-lasting sweet aftertaste reminiscent of rock sugar. 

Storage: This tea is suitable for aging. Store it in a clean, sealed container protected from sunlight, moisture, and odor.
