The raw material of this white peony tea made from the highest-grade one tea bud and two leaves, and the surface of the tea is covered with a layer of silvery white fuzz. When brewing white peony, the white fuzz will fall into the water, making the tea sweeter. This is indeed a form of theanine.

(first pick up of the year 2019, made from old tea bushes over 50 years)

What is wild tea?

Wild refer to tea trees growing in the mountains and fields, largely unmanaged, also known as "wild tea." Unlike tea trees in tea gardens, they don't receive artificial intervention such as fertilization and pruning. Their root systems are deep, giving them a unique "wild mountain flavor."

What is First Pick-up Spring Harvest?

First pick-up refers to the first batch of tender buds in the tea garden that meet the harvesting standards after spring arrives. These buds and leaves have accumulated nutrients throughout the winter, making them exceptionally rich in internal substances. Because they are harvested earliest and have extremely low yields, they are particularly precious.

What are the characteristics of Wild tea?
Appearance: Due to the lack of management, the buds and leaves of wild tea trees are usually relatively small, but the "horseshoe joint" at the base of the bud is slightly larger, which is a distinctive feature.

Where is this Baimudan from?

This first-pick spring harvest White Peony is from Panxi, Fuding, which is recognized as one of the core places of Fuding white tea.

The key to Panxi's superior white tea production lies in its near-perfect geographical and ecological environment, practically tailor-made for tea tree growth.

High Altitude and Cloud Nourishment: Panxi Town is the highest-altitude town in Fuding, with most tea gardens nestled in the deep mountains above 500 meters. The rolling mountains and year-round cloud cover create a unique "high-mountain cloud and mist" microclimate.

Slow Growth, Rich Internal Qualities: The high altitude leads to significant diurnal temperature variations, slowing the tea tree's growth and allowing more time for amino acids, tea polyphenols, and other internal substances to accumulate, resulting in a richer, fuller flavor.

Natural Shade, Delicate Aroma: The pervasive cloud cover acts like a natural "shade net," preventing direct sunlight and promoting the production of amino acids in the tea trees, giving the tea a fresher and more delicate aroma.

Production time: 2019

Origin: Panxi Fuding city, Fujian Province, China

Tea Shape: Dry tea leaves: The tea leaves are tight, yellow-gray green, with obvious white fuzz hair core and many white fuzz hairs on the back of the leaves; the soaked tea leaves are soft and elastic.

Tea Soup: Clear, bright yellow

Taste Features: the first to third infusions feature its pronounced and sweet, mixed flowery peony and rose aromas and tender tea fuzz fragrance. After a few infusions, a unique laocong old tea bush fragrance will emerge, which is a complex fragrance of subtle moss, wood, and Zong leaf( a very resistant leaf for making rice-dumplings Zongzi). The varied floral scents linger inside the mouth after a sip with a silk-like and strong gelatinous texture. It has a remarkable mellowness and richness in flavor.

Brewing suggestions:
Tea to water ratio 1:30
Water temperature: above  95℃/203℉
Steeping time: 5-15s
