What is Yunnan White Tea?

Yunnan White Tea uses fresh leaves of Yunnan ancient tree large-leaf species as raw materials, and adopts the traditional white tea half-shade and half-suning process. It does not roll or fry, retaining the natural aroma of fresh leaves. Due to the different origins and tea tree varieties, Yunnan White Tea and Fuding White Tea will also have some differences in aroma and taste.

Yunnan White Tea presents a unique sweetness, floral fragrance, mellow and freshness. The tea leaves are highly resistant to brewing and contain rich substances. It is very suitable for aging, which is also called large space for later transformation.

Raw materials: The raw materials for this white tea are selected from fresh leaves of large-leaf species from Gushu ancient trees in the south of Bingdao, Yunnan Province. The tea garden is located in an area with an average altitude of 1,600-1,800 meters. The forest vegetation coverage rate is high, and there is a natural forest atmosphere, which is suitable for the growth of tea trees.

Taste feature: It’s full and round on the palate.  The first sip has the flowery fragrance from deep mountains and wild forests. It tastes fresh, soft, sweet and mellow, with a light gardenia scent. The fragrance profile has a mixture of subtle and elegant flowery orchid and gardenia, nectar fragrances. 

Storage: This tea is suitable for aging. Store it in a clean, sealed container protected from sunlight, moisture, and odor.

White tea health benefits:

Yunnan white tea is made from fresh leaves of large-leafed old trees (Gushu) in Yunnan. Therefore, it is rich in substances. Because it is a lightly fermented tea, the rich nutrients are completely retained, making the white tea not only delicious but also has medicinal value: clearing away heat and detoxifying, anti-inflammatory, helping to reduce the risk of heart disease, anti-aging, anti-oxidation, and even helping to lose weight.

Tea to water ratio 1:30
Tea set selection: Gaiwan (preferred), teapot
Water temperature use 90°C(194℉) 

First of all, in a Chinese tea ceremony we have to preheat the tea set to stimulate the aroma of the tea leaves better.

Steeping time: first infusion: over 30s(compressed tea leaves needs some time to stretch), late infusion: 15s/15s/20s/20s
