Handcrafted Raw Ore Pottery Teacup Chinese Lacquer Ware Teacup

This is a decorative technique using Chinese lacquer. It involves layering colored lacquer (made by adding mineral pigments to natural lacquer) and gold powder multiple times. 

Lacquer, also known as natural lacquer, raw lacquer, and Chinese lacquer, is a natural resin coating. It is a white viscous emulsion that flows out of the bast of the lacquer tree after cutting the bark. It is a pure natural product. The lacquer juice is brushed on the surface of the object and can dry in the air to form a hard film of the original color. It is tough, durable, and corrosion-resistant.

Lacquer was originally used for sealing and reinforcement of production tools. For thousands of years, as people's understanding of its characteristics deepened, they not only prepared colorful lacquers, but also created decorative techniques such as inlay and mother-of-pearl, which gradually turned lacquer from a material into art.
