The Chinese lotus of twined stems pattern is a traditional Chinese plant pattern. The lotus flower is the main body, and the vines are used to form a pattern. Widely used in construction, textiles, stone carving, wood carving, and blue and white porcelain. Because of its continuous structure, it also means "endless life" and implies auspiciousness.

"Blue and white porcelain" (Chinese: 青花; pinyin: qīng-huā; lit. 'Blue flowers/patterns') covers a wide range of white pottery and porcelain decorated under the glaze with a cobalt blue pigment, generally cobalt oxide.
