What's Lapsang Souchong?
Zhengshan Xiaozhong(Lapsang Souchong) was first created in the Tongmu area of Chong'an County, Fujian Province, and has more than 400 years of history. It was created by local tea farmers in Wuyishan of Fujian Province in the middle and late Ming Dynasty. Zhengshan Xiaozhong was originally called "Tongmuguan Zhengshan Xiaozhong," also known as " Lapsang Souchong." It is one of the oldest black teas in the world and the ancestor of the world's black tea.
Lapsang Souchong is divided into two types: smoked type and smokeless type.
- The smoked Lapsang Souchong is smoked with Masson pine, which creates its pine smoke and longan flavor;
- the smokeless Lapsang Souchong is not smoked with Masson pine, which retains the floral and honey aroma of the tea buds and is more in line with the taste of modern people.
The craftsmanship and quality of this tea are amazing. The raw materials are of high grade. The mountains of Tongmuguan are high, humid and cold. Under such low temperature conditions, the tea-making masters need exquisite craftsmanship to ferment the tea leaves properly.
Where is this tea from?

This smokeless Lapsang Souchong tea comes from the core production area of Tongmuguan, which is located in the core area of the National Forest Park, with water embracing the mountains and heavy mist. The ecological environment is excellent, the forest coverage rate is as high as 96%, and the microclimate characteristics are obvious. Tea trees grow on the mountains, and the tea produced is rich in quality and has a unique herbal fragrance.
