Tanyang Gongfu black tea can be said to have a legendary existence in the Chinese black tea category. It was first created in 1851 and has been on the market for a century and a half. In 2021, the production craft of Tanyang Gongfu black tea was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage.

About the origin of the name of Tan Yang Gong Fu:

  • Tanyang refers to Tanyang Village, Fu'an City, Fujian Province.
  • "Gongfu" means that the production process is complicated and time-consuming. In addition to Gongfu black tea, there is also Gongfu tea, which is only one word different, but Gongfu tea refers to a brewing method, while Gongfu black tea is a variety of black tea.
