What's Agarwood 沉香?

Agarwood, often called "wood of the gods," is a highly prized, fragrant, dark resinous heartwood produced by Aquilaria trees in response to mold infection. Known as oud or gaharu, it is essential in luxury perfumes, incense, and traditional medicine. 

• Formation: It is not natural; when Aquilaria trees are wounded by insects, fungi (Phaeoacremonium parasitica), or human damage, they produce a dark, aromatic resin to protect themselves.
• Uses: Widely used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat stomach issues, pain, and asthma; highly sought after in Middle Eastern and Asian cultures for incense and perfume                                                                                                                              

The aromas notes of this Qinan (Yingge Green) agarwood:                                             It is renowned for its sweet honey aroma, elegant fruity fragrance, milky notes, and intense coolness, earning it the title of "King of Fragrances." Its aroma is richly layered; the initial scent is refreshingly cool, followed by a sweet and lingering fragrance. 

Main Aroma: Cool, sweet, and honey-like.

Layering: Extreme aroma variations, typically a refreshing coolness accompanied by a lingering sweet floral and fruity scent.

Experience: It evokes a sense of well-being and overall comfort, with a uniquely invigorating feeling.

Falling Notes: Gentle and lingering, a refreshing coolness lingers even after the initial faint scent fades quickly.

Maintenance Instructions

1. Agarwood should not be soaked. Water contact will cause the bracelet to turn white and crack. Avoid contact with chemicals such as hand soap, dish soap, and shower gel, as these can cause irreversible damage to the agarwood.

2. Agarwood easily absorbs odors. Do not spray perfume while wearing agarwood, as this will affect the fragrance and cause it to linger. Store it properly in environments with strong odors before wearing it.

3. Agarwood is relatively soft and easily cracked by impacts or drops. Avoid collisions and abrasions with hard objects. Be careful not to let it be scratched by sharp objects.

4. It is not recommended to handle or polish agarwood. Handling will cause a patina to form on the surface, which will hinder the normal release of the fragrance.

5. When not wearing agarwood, please store it in the provided sealed container in a cool, dry place( if you wear it for one day and then you rest it inside the container for the next day) Do not expose it to high temperatures or direct sunlight, as this will cause the agarwood to deteriorate.
