What's Neimoyin Imtimal Imprint craftsmanship?

Is the inner engraved? At first glance, you might think it's a carved pattern, but it's not. The technique originated in the Song Dynasty. It was a decorative technique first popularized by the Ding kiln. It uses a semi-circular ceramic mold, inscribed with delicate patterns.
Then, the finished adobe is placed upside down on the semi-circular mold with the carved pattern and gently tapped.
